Thursday night is Soul night with Steve Handbury and Gaz Hallsworth. Between 7pm and 9pm, it’s your chance to catch up with the very best of northern, crossover and modern soul with a hint of Motown thrown in for good measure on “Soul Spectrum”, Tameside Radio’s “live” show covering no less than five decades of soul music.

Steve has been a long time fan of the music since the early 1970’s attending such legendary venues as Wigan Casino, Cleethorpes Pier, Stafford, The Mecca, St Ives and many, many more. His passion for the music extends beyond presenting the show as he is also one of the scene’s premier journalists which has allowed him to interview and befriend many legendary artists.

Gaz cut his teeth at the Crew all-nighters, Up The Junction and the ground breaking Golden Torch in Stoke-On-Trent, as well as taking in the Catacomb’s in Wolverhampton and the Pendulum in Manchester where he acquired his love of “oldies”.

With their vast experience, Steve and Gaz bring you two hours of quality soul music that will not only take you back to the very roots of the scene, but also take you forward with the very best of modern soul that has become a major part of the soul scene that we know today.
