Community Group Transform Land
Posted on Thu 22 Jul 2010
A community group in Carrbrook have made massive changes to a plot of land on Crowswood Drive as part of an Evergreen project run by local residents.
The changes have seen a porta-cabin and wildlife garden being added to the land with plans to create a decked area, lawned area and memorial garden in the near future. Tameside radio visited the site, where we spoke to head of the project, Terry Drabble, and took a few pictures of the centre.
The project has recieved funding and donations from the District Assembly, Buckton Vale Quarry and variousother companies, however more donations are needed to help to complete the centre including; timber to create decking for a benched area for local senior citizens and books to complete the public library which will be opening on July 24th.
Anybody who has donation enquiries can contact Terry Drabble on 01457838423.
The group will be continuing to raise money themselves by holding colouring competitions for the children and various other events and would like to welcome people to visit the centre on Crowswood Drive, Carrbrook, Stalybridge.
