Discovery Day brings museums to life - Event Information
The Museum of the Manchester Regiment and Setantii museum - based at Ashton Town Hall - will literally come to life for Tameside Museums and Galleries' annual Discovery Day. First World War Tommies, Wellington’s Foot Soldiers, a 95th Rifleman and camp-follower as well as a French Napoleonic Soldier will all be on hand to help you discover more about our military past and especially its Tameside and Manchester connections. Tanks and other military vehicles will also invade the market square in Ashton, just outside the Town Hall to give a taste of military life. There will be lots of fun workshops and activities - all free and no need to book.
