The Hindle Curry Night - Event Information
A 4-course meal + entertainment at the Indian Ocean, Ashton - also including an auction and a raffle (tickets £5) with great prizes to be won.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the special fund which has been launched by friends and family of Wayne Hindle, from Droylsden, who has recently been diagnosed with myeloma, a very rare form of cancer of the bone marrow. Wayne - an otherwise healthy and active 39-year-old has recently been through an 8 hour operation at Hope Hospital to remove a tumour from his spine. Although the surgery successfully removed the tumour, he still has the myeloma. Not only is he battling to rehabilitate himself to walk again post-surgery, but he has also started a six-month course of chemotherapy. To help him walk again, he has recently been transferred to Southport Spinal Unit.
Wayne lives with his partner of eight years, Kat and has a 13 year old son Liam. With his condition and the treatment he is undergoing, he is unable to work and unfortunately has no health insurance or critical illness cover to support him financially. Friends and family are currently thinking of ideas to raise money to help Wayne and his family through this difficult time. There has already been a successful fund raising car wash organised by his son which raised over £200. The family have opened a savings account for all monetary contributions and money raised from events.
Tickets for the Curry Night are now on sale: £22 per person - £10 of which goes to Wayne and Kat. Why not make it a works night out, or a get together with a few friends. A great night for a great cause.
